Prof. Ashish Bose, one of the leading demographers known nationally and internally passed away today(7.4.2014) in New Delhi. He was sick for the past few months. Prof. Bose will always be remembered   for his tremendous contributions  to the subject of Demography and Population Study ( and words coined BIMARU, Decimal Demographers….). He was instrumental in organizing the IUSSP conference in New Delhi in 1987 as well as  in drafting the national population policy of India, 2000. The IASSH members fraternity  conveys its  deep condolence to his bereaved  family members and   prays to God   that may  his soul rest in peace in the heaven.
