Job DescriptionOrganization Description:
The International Training and Education Center on HIV (I-TECH) is a federally-funded project which supports the development of HIV/AIDS care and treatment training initiatives in 25 resource-limited countries acutely impacted by the global AIDS epidemic. I-TECH currently supports 10 international offices and approximately 350 international and domestic staff. In India, I-TECH is registered in the name of AroGyaan as a society, under the Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act, and the project is described as I-TECH India Project.
Position Description: I-TECH seeks a Clinical Trainer to work on the I-TECH India Clinical Team in a Fellowship Programme Management and supervisory capacity. The Clinical Trainer will work closely with the Medical Director, Country Director and other clinical and senior management team members. The Clinical Trainer would have major responsibility of managing the HIV Fellowship Programme, as well as supervise the Chief Fellow and the Clinical Training Coordinator.Responsibilities: Fellowship Programme: Manage day-to-day operations of Fellowship Programme§ along with Clinical Training Coordinator. Build relationships with pool§ of Clinical Resource Faculty Conduct technical assistance sessions of hours in the wards with Fellows thrice weekly and document the log of all the clinical team sessions and share with the Medical Director Coordinate,§ conduct, and summarize monthly assessments Organize and assess Exposure§ Visits for fellows in co-ordination with Senior Clinical Trainer. § Organize short site visits for fellows twice a month. Co-ordinate§ –clinical symposium once in 2 months Organize and conduct alumni§ meet/refresher update once a year Oversee and use ongoing Fellowship§ evaluation feedback Conduct minimum 2 trainings/month with Fellowship§ Programme Oversee recruitment activities§ Assist Clinical§ Specialist in revision and completion of Fellowship Programme Curriculum -develop 2-3 sessions every month Mobilize appropriate existing§ resources for Fellowship Programme Send 3 monthly ITECH listserv§ updates Act as Site co-ordinator for Distance Learning seminar§ series Act as Site co-ordinator for University of Washington short§ courses Act as Advisor when required.§ Convene and conduct weekly§ fellowship team meetings involving the advisors, administration team and management. Organize and Co-ordinate Triannual clinical§ assessment Co-ordinate program evaluation through external evaluator§
Other Activities:
Training:§ o Serve as a trainer with training programmes, including NACO trainings, if required. § Clinical Mentoring:o Participate in other on-site mentoring activities Supervision:§o Supervise the Chief Fellow, review and document his/her performance.o Supervise Clinical Training Co-ordinator and review his/her performanceOthers: Submit monthly§ activities report to Medical Director. Document programme activities following M&E protocols. Attend meetings on behalf of I-TECH, representing§ Fellowship Programme and clinical care activities. Take turns to handle§ the Clinical Consultation Warmline once in a week Participate in§ curriculum development activities of I-TECH/AroGyaan Involve in onsite§ demonstration and dissemination of OI videos.
Required Qualifications:• MBBS with post-graduate or diploma in the following specializations: Pediatrics, Public Health, O&G or Intenal Medicine.• Atleast two years post-qualification teaching/training experience. • Strong grasp of HIV and related clinical issues, infection control and knowledge of current medical literature.• Understanding of HIV care and treatment context and guidelines in India.• Excellent analytical and organizational skills. • Clear written and verbal communication skills.• Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills and ability to work effectively in a team. • Experience in planning, monitoring and evaluation. • Curriculum development skills, with an emphasis on interactive, participatory learning methodologies.• Fluent written and oral English language required, with working knowledge of South Indian language (Tamil, Telugu) preferred.

International Conference ,Post Doc.fellowship Program

International Conference on Gender-based Violence and Sexual and Reproductive Health
Date: February 15-18, 2009
Venue: Mumbai India
Objectives:

The objectives of this conference are to: (i) review the magnitude and determinants of GBV; (ii) explore the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) consequences of GBV; (iii) share experiences of programme and interventions for the prevention of GBV, their impact on SRH and gaps and challenges that remain; (iv) review relevant policies, programme and their implementation; and (v) suggest recommendations on programme strategies and policies to address GBV and SRH.
The scientific programme for this conference will involve multi-disciplinary sessions, including findings derived from operational, psycho-social and behavioural research and programme related to gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health. This conference is being organised by the National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health (India), UNDP/UNFPA/WHO/Word Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction; and the Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction and Fertility. Asian Meta Centre for Population and Sustainable Development Analysis
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Project titled CHAMPSEA
: Transnational Migration in South-East Asia and the Health of Children Left Behind. The project is funded by the Welcome Trust and will involve the development, implementation, management and analysis of a large multi-country survey. Researcher will be based in Singapore but will be expected to travel to the four study countries of Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, but work closely with a Postdoctoral Fellow based at the University of St Andrews, UK, as well as with collaborators from the UK and the study countries.

Qualifications/Experiences:
PhD degree (or are awaiting conferment) and have research interests in a relevant area of the social sciences (e.g. Migration Studies, Health Studies, Anthropology, Sociology or Geography).Research experience in the area of migration and health, preferably in an Asian context, and will be expected to co-ordinate the next stage of field work in four study countries.
